Silent auction to aid Silver Key

       A silent auction is underway at Silver ' n Such, the Silver Key Senior Services thrift shop.
       The shop is inside the Silver Key facility at 2250 Bott Ave. The times are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
       The auction began April 9 and will continue through April 30.
       Items will include pianos, TVs and furniture.
       Silver Key is a non-profit agency serving thousands of senior citizens in Colorado Springs and outlying areas.

       Gunter-Wolff Gallery, 2605 W. Colorado Ave., will hold a public opening of ceramic artist Jerry Rhodes' second annual raku exhibition, “Rhodes Raku Rendezvous,” Saturday, April 21 from 6 to 8 p.m.

       Eric Cefus has been named executive director of the Catamount Institute.
       The non-profit environmental agency has offices at 740 Caramillo St. (inside the Beidleman Center), where it specializes in science-based nature programs for schools.
       During a 19-year career, Cefus has held several management positions in engineering and sales; most recently as international business coordinator for Sturman Industries in Woodland Park,
       Since 2006, he has been a member of the Catamount board of directors. The current board consists of Julie Francis, Ted Worcester, Charlie Campbell, Jennifer DeCesaro, and Ann Zwinger (director emeritus).
      
       The Community Partnership for Child Development (CPCD) will host an “enrollment event” for its free preschool and infant/ toddler programs Thursday, April 19 from 1 to 4 p.m. at its Westside headquarters, 2330 Rob-inson St.
       Developed for children under age 5, CPCD's programs include Head Start, Early Head Start and the Colorado Preschool Pro-gram.
       Families must qualify to enroll (low income & special needs); however, income is not a limiting factor for all programs.
