Burglar plagues homes in older Westside

A home invasion and three burglaries - possibly all by the same person - plagued the older Westside the morning of April 3.
There were no injuries. Items taken were a TV, DVD player and jewelry, and a house was damaged.
In the invasion, police said a single suspect kicked in the rear door of a home in the 1800 block of Pikes Peak Ave. “Once inside, the suspect pointed a small revolver at the victim and demanded money,” the police report states, adding that instead he fled without taking anything. The suspect was described as a white male, mid-20s, 5-foot-10, medium build and dark hair. At the time, he was wearing a white hoodie sweatshirt and dark pants. The suspect left in a white four- door sedan, possibly a Toyota or Honda, police said.
The other break-ins occurred in the 1300 block of West Pikes Peak Avenue and in the 1500 and 2100 blocks of West Kiowa Street. “These burglaries have a similar MO [modus operandi - method] and appear to be related to the home invasion,” the police report states.
