Open forum for latest Coronado principal finalists

An open forum is scheduled for the new round of candidate finalists seeking to become principal at Coronado High School.
The opportunity will be Thursday, April 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the school.
Anyone interested needs to go to the main building (the nearest one to Fillmore Street). A staff person will provide directions from that point. Each principal candidate will be in a different room. People can pose the same question to each of the candidates and "grade" them afterward, according to Coronado spokesperson.
The open forum will conclude a day of interviews for those seeking the Coronado job. Earlier, separate groups of students, staff and community members will interview a set of finalists (most likely five) as determined by District 11 administrators from previous candidate screenings. Depending on the results of these interviews, the number of candidates could be reduced for the forum.
District 11 Superintendent Nick Gledich will make the final hiring decision, contingent on approval by the Board of Education.
This is the second hiring process for the Coronado position this semester. For reasons that were not detailed officially, Gledich decided not to hire anyone the first time and to advertise the position again.
Current Principal Marcia Landwehr announced previously that she will be retiring after this year.
