‘Notable’ night at Holmes
An evening event called the “Night of the Notables” April 4 spotlighted how seventh-graders at Holmes Middle School each had researched a historical character, developed a text-and-graphic poster board about him or her, then dressed up like that person. More than 100 displays were up. A few samples are shown here... LEFT: Brooke Willis as Louis Braille, who was blinded at age 10 and went on to invent the Braille system of reading and writing. BELOW: Kyler Kasten as entertainment pioneer Walt Disney, Patrick Tabrum as the Persian conqueror Xerxes and Stanton Rubio as reggae musician Bob Marley. RIGHT: Kali Peltier as the Egyptian queen Cleopatra.
