NB I-25 to close overnight April 9 between Tejon and Highway 24

As part of the continuing Cimarron/I-25 interchange project, northbound I-25 is scheduled for an overnight closure between the south Nevada Avenue/Tejon Street and Cimarron Street/Highway 24 exits from Saturday, April 9 at 10 p.m. to Sunday, April 10 at 8 a.m.
Lane restrictions will begin at 7 p.m., a Colorado Department of Transportation press release states, adding that the closure is required for drainage work. Traffic will be guided to a detour using Nevada Avenue.
Other overnight work, including intermittent lane closures, is scheduled in the days leading up to April 9. As always in such cases, the closures are weather-dependent.
Another recent change has been some temporary lane realignments. One is on the southbound off-ramp (only one lane allowed to go westbound for now, instead of two), and the other is both directions of Highway 24 west of the interchange (which requires slowing).
The work is part of a stepped-up construction effort by the contractor, Kraemer/TSH, in carrying out the $113 million project, which started last year and is slated to last until late 2017.
The freeway speed through the work has been reduced to 55. Motorists are advised to slow down and watch for detour signs.
