Westsider, Coronado High senior earns Eagle Scout honor for Fine Arts Center project

Coronade High senior Grant Moncher recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout.
The son of Westside residents Jim Moncher and Danine Schell qualified for the honor by leading a project to renovate the Docent Office and Library at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center.
Grant has been a member of Boy Scout Troop 102 since 2007. The troop meets at Calvary United Methodist Church.
At Coronado, Grant plays in the school's wind ensemble, symphonic band and jazz band, is on the wrestling team and is an honor student. He plans to attend Western State Colorado University in the fall, studying music education.
He thanked Scouting for putting him “on solid ground with the skills I have learned and the standards I believe in.”
