Parks Advisory recommends White Acres to council
With a favorable recommendation from the Colorado Springs Parks Advisory Board March 12, the White Acres open space proposal is slated to go before City
Council Tuesday, April 14.
Approval there would allow the city to close on a deal to buy about 45 acres west of 26th Street and Gold Camp Road just south of Red Rock Canyon Open Space. The deal would be for $1 million, paid by the city's Trails, Open Space and Parks (TOPS) program on a four-phase basis over four years.
The proposal has previously been backed by City Parks staff, which negotiated the purchase plan with property owners Bethany Baptist Church and the Infinity Land Corporation, and the council-appointed TOPS Working Committee.
