Tesla presentation at OCCHS April 9
Mike McKee, a science teacher at the Westside's Dayspring Academy, will speak about electrical inventor Nicola Tesla
at 11 a.m. April 9 at the Old Colorado City History Center, 1 S. 24th St. |
McKee is known as a specialist on Tesla who owns a large collection of the scientist's material.
The talk, free and open to the public, will be in conjunction with the monthly meeting of the Old Colorado City Historical Society (OCCHS). Refreshments will be provided.
Tesla, a contemporary of Thomas Edison, led the early development of alternating current electricity and maintained a laboratory for many years in Colorado Springs.
OCCHS program organizer Jo Cervone said she did not have advance details about McKee's Tesla presentation, but joked that perhaps “we'll all be surprised when Mike drags in a 1,000-pound coil and causes all the power to go out on the Westside.”
