Volunteers sought for Dog Park's 'April Stools'

Volunteers are welcome to help clean up the Bear Creek Dog Park in the annual April Stools Day Saturday, April 5 from 9 a.m. to noon.
Buckets, bags and rubber gloves will be provided for the cleanup, but participants are asked to bring their own shovels or scoopers. The event will be part of a “weekend festival” (April 5-6), including the opening of a new agility training area, according to Ron Buchanan, head of the Friends of Bear Creek Dog Park.
Also, the Friends will man a booth at the park both days from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, he said.
Part of the El Paso County Parks system, the 20-acre open area is west of 21st Street at the T-intersection with Rio Grande Street. For more information, call Buchanan at 520-5098 or e-mail friendsofbcdpcs@gmail.com.
