       Remodel completed
The Dunkin' Donuts at 806 W. Colorado Ave. reopened in late February after being closed for a month for a major remodel that added 700 square feet of space for dining and for food preparation (including the capability of cooking for other stores).
Business in the first week was up 60 percent from a year ago at the same time, according to Jordan Eads, district manager of First Cup LLC, a group from Phoenix, Ariz., which took over the Dunkin' Donuts franchise for Colorado Springs last April.
It was the first remodel at the 46-year-old store in 25 years, Eads said.

       Dance classes, live bands
A business combining dance, live bands and other art experiences has opened at Suite 301 of the Templeton Building. 2502 W. Colorado Ave.
Heart of Art is owned by Catch Avion, previous owner of the Two Left Feet studio who has taught ballroom and Latin dance for 25 years.
At Heart of Art, she is continuing to offer classes and is also booking bands and “looking to create variety shows,” Avion said. “I want to have a little bit of everything so people can be surprised and entertained by it.”
The suite comprises 1,000 square feet in a large room on the third floor, at the southeast corner of the building (closest to 25th and Colorado), where the Loft live-music venue most recently had been located.
The space can also be rented for parties, corporate meetings or as eclectic space, with optional catering and a small coffee bar, she said.
