In memoriam: Henry 'Hank' Walter, founder of Cheyenne, Woodmen newspapers

Henry "Hank" Walter, founder of the Cheyenne Edition and Woodmen Edition community newspapers, has died. He was 79.
An obituary states that services will be at Faith Lutheran Church, 315 Security Blvd., Wednesday, March 23 at 1 p.m., with a reception to follow.
Walter had stayed involved with both weekly papers until last year (including writing his “Observations” column), when they were purchased by the Gazette .
The two publications traditionally cover areas north and south of the Westside.
A representative of the Gazette editorial board also inquired about buying the Westside Pioneer last year, but was turned down.
Walter is survived by his wife Carolyn, 4 children, 4 siblings, 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
