World's Modern Pentathlon champion at Norris-Penrose Horseman's Expo March 19

The winner of this year's Modern Pentathlon World Cup will be among the features at the 6th annual Colorado Horseman's Expo, Saturday, March 19 at the Norris-Penrose Event Center, 1045 Lower Gold Camp Road.
Also offering riding demonstrations, a kids center, vendors and seminars, the free event will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Amro El Geziry of Egypt, who also competed in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics, took first place in the competition in late February in Cairo. The Modern Pentathlon consists of pistol shooting, fencing, swimming, horse riding and running.
Amro will give a presentation at the Expo and afterward will “be available to the public for a meet and greet,” according to event manager Sarah Gibson.
A press release lists the riding demonstrations under the categories of Extreme Cowboy Racing, Dressage, Horse Vaulting and Barrel Racing.
Kids center activities will include a petting zoo, pony rides, a stick-horse rodeo, a magician and face painting. “Kids can even meet Silver, the miniature horse, and witness one of his many tricks!” Gibson said.
In addition, Miralee Ferrell and Clint Goodwin, authors of books about horses, will be in attendance, “sharing how their love for horses inspired them to write their books,” Gibson said.
