AcademyACL picks up ‘STEAM’

       The Academy for Advanced & Creative Learning (AcademyACL) is inviting the public to its second annual STEAM Day Thursday, March 21. The K-8 charter school for gifted students is at 2510 N. Chestnut St.
       The free, all-day activities will start with a presentation by the Colorado Springs Ballet Society at 8 a.m. Scheduled after that, some simultaneously, will be sessions with guest presenters from the Neenan Company (an architecturing firm); faculty from the United States Air Force Academy; and AcademyACL teachers Jesse Wilson (music/theater) and Hellen Eberhardie Dunn (art).
       People from the community wishing to attend are asked to call for times and reservations.
       “STEAM” is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics. For more information, call 434-6566 or e-mail office@academyacl.org.
       Bristol arts night Mar. 21
       Bristol Elementary will host its annual Arts Night Thursday, March 21 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
       The community is invited, with arts activities in classrooms, art displays in the hallways and students performing songs they've learned in the school's Suzuki violin program.
       The arts-focus public school is at 890 N. Walnut St.
