Silver Key store now open Saturdays

       Silver Key Senior Services' thrift store, Silver & Such, has expanded operations from Monday through Friday to include Saturdays.
       Stocked with donations from the community and staffed by volunteers, the store at 2250 Bott Ave, sells such items as furniture, electronics, household items, lamps, jewelry and clothing.
       “All money raised in the store goes to support the work of Silver Key, supporting independence for seniors in the community,” a press release states.

       New consignment store
       A consignment store has opened at 1973 W. Uintah St.
       Red Tag sells a variety of merchandise, including household items, furniture, collectables, antiques, electronics and clothes.
       The business is open daily.
       Consignments are welcome from businesses as well as individuals.
       Owner Ryan Fowler said he chose the location to “offer the Westside a new store to sell and buy goods.”

       Second printing for book
       A reprint is in the works for Robert Shoop's 2003 book, “Down to the Wire: The Lives of the Triple Crown Champions.”
       The first printing sold out, according to Shoop, a Westside writer. The new printing will be by Mother's House Publishing of Colorado Springs. Market-ing will be timed for the 2013 Triple Crown , which begins May 4 with the Kentucky Derby, he said.
