Annual Old Town Easter Egg Hunt Mar. 22

The Old Colorado City merchants will sponsor the annual Easter Egg Hunt in Bancroft Park Saturday, March 22.
Three separate age-defined hunts will take place simultaneously, starting at 12:30 “sharp,” according to art gallery owner Nancy Stovall, who is coordinating the event for the Old Colorado City Associates (OCCA) merchants group.
The three groups are ages 1-2, 3-4 and 5-8.
Although the event is free and open to anyone in town, the OCCA is only advertising it in Westside areas, Stovall said. “It's our thank you to Old Colorado City's neighbors,” she said.
As usual, there will be plenty of eggs for everyone (about 2,500). Actually, they are plastic oval containers, each one holding a small toy, candy or a paper slip. Those with a slip indicate the child has won a prize from some Old Colorado City merchant.
Families are invited to come to the park with their kids an hour beforehand and participate in free pre-hunt activities, including face painting, balloon twisting and ice cream, Stovall said. Live musical entertainment will be provided by Jan Dixon (Skyy-High Music).
Bancroft Park is in the 2400 block of West Colorado Avenue.
