YMCA 'meet and greet' at Westside Community Center March 13

Seeking to offer programs that appeal to Westside residents, the local YMCA plans a “Family Science Night Meet and Greet” Friday, March 13 at the Westside Community Center.
The free event will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The center is at 1628 W. Bijou St.
According to a press release and the Community Center website, attendees will get to choose from three science activities that families can work on together. In addition, people can “mingle with staff [to] help determine the events for the Family Fun Series beginning in June,” the website states.
In an agreement with the Westside Community Center - a city-owned facility which is privately run through a service arm of the Woodmen Valley Chapel - the YMCA started offering programs this year.
Already scheduled by the Y at the center this summer is a day camp for ages 5-12 from May to July.
For more information, call the center at 385-7920 x100.
