City Council to see revised sewage back-up policy March 17
A proposal to ease the city wastewater policy regarding sewage back-ups is scheduled to be presented to Colorado Springs
City Council (acting as the Utility Board) at the next monthly board meeting March 17. |
Council members could then decide to make the proposal an action item at their formal meeting March 23, according to Rachel Beck, a spokesperson for Colorado Springs Utilities.
A majority of council gave informal approval to the proposal at the Utility Board meeting Feb. 18.
The leniency plan, partially in response to a major back-up in the 2100 block of West Bijou Street in January, would immunize property owners from personal cost from sewer back-ups if they can prove proper service-line maintenance.
