Chance to meet, question Coronado principal candidates The community is invited to meet - and ask questions of - the top three candidates to become principal at Coronado High School, starting in 2014-15.The opportunity will occur Thursday, Feb. 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. Anyone interested needs to go to the main building (the nearest one to Fillmore Street). A staff person will provide directions from that point. Each principal candidate will be in a different room. People can pose the same question to each of the candidates and “grade” them afterward, according to a Coronado spokesperson. The “meet-and-interact,” as it's called, will conclude a day of interviews for those seeking the Coronado job. Earlier, separate groups of students, staff and community members will interview a total of five candidates. That process will reduce the number of applicants to three in time for the evening session, the spokesperson explained. District 11 Superintendent Nick Gledich will make the final hiring decision. Current Principal Marcia Landwehr announced previously that she will be retiring after this year. For more information, call 328-3611.
