Clark to serve 5th year as OWN president

Welling Clark will stay on as president of the Organization of Westside Neighbors (OWN), following a vote of the board Feb. 11.
He has headed up the city-recognized advocacy group for the older Westside since the latter part of 2006.
Two other board directors were also reelected by the board - Sean Chambers as vice president and Terry Brunette as treasurer. Travers Jordan, who is in his third year on the board, was voted in as secretary, filling a vacancy.
The director positions are for one year. The board's vote on the directors followed the Jan. 28 annual board election (in which all older Westside residents and property owners were eligible to participate) that brought in three new members (for three-year terms) on the nine-member board.
In the past year, Clark helped OWN and the city finalize the Design Guidelines document for homeowner remodeling reference and is continuing to work with the city on a future historic overlay zone for the older Westside.
