Cougar Alumni appreciate trophy

When the Coronado High football team won its first-ever state championship Nov. 30 in Longmont against defending state champion Silver Creek, several former Cougar players were on hand to enjoy the moment with them. Holding the trophy (from left) are Kevin Ferguson, from the school's first varsity team (Class of '73); Ray Ferguson, from the team's first winning season in 1977 - 5 wins, 4 losses (Class of '78); Mark Buchanan, defensive backs coach on that same team and head coach from 1991 to 2001; and Eric Koppisch (Class of '83), from the only other Coronado team to play for a state title, losing to Loveland in 1982.
