Artists to demonstrate work at gallery

       Sculptor Cheryl Lafon and painter Ed McCarthy Allen will demonstrate their work Friday and Saturday, Jan. 27-28 in a free event at the Gunter-Wolff Gallery, 2605 W. Colorado Ave. The times both days will be noon to 8 p.m. Visitors are welcome to talk to the artists as they work.
      
       Goodwill Industries of Colorado Springs has been accredited for a three-year period for its rehabilitation programs by the international accrediting commission for rehabilitation facilities known as CARF.
       According to a Goodwill press release, the audit represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded and is the 11th consecutive three-year accreditation Goodwill has received.
       The Westside-based non-profit agency has been providing programs and services to aid individuals in achieving personal and economic independence since 1956.
      
       Sakura, a Japanese restaurant, has opened at 3117 W. Colorado Ave. in the Red Rock shopping center. The owners are Nancy Jang and Jongbo West.

       Ladies Fitness has moved to a new location on the Westside - 1412 S. 21st St. Owned by Marcia Frye, the business offers customers a chance to use workout equipment as well as do tanning and yoga. The phone is 632-3001.
