West Intergenerational Center publishes winter/spring brochure

The winter/spring brochure for the West Intergenerational Center is available to the public.
The 12-page publication lists special events, programs, trips and activities being run by or through the Westside's community center over the next five months. The free brochure can be picked up at the center, 25 N. 20th St.
Special events include a Black History Music Festival Feb. 10, a St. Patrick's Day party March 16, and a Cinco de Mayo celebration May 2.
Two trips are scheduled for all ages - to the Butterfly Pavilion Center and Casa Bonita Restaurant April 27 and to the Great Sand Dunes National Monument May 25.
Several trips are reserved for ages 55 and older. These include the Breckenridge International Snow Sculpture Championships Jan. 24, the Denver Pow Wow March 23 and Mount Princeton Hot Springs May 2.
A special teen program will be the Ice Cream Social May 16 to celebrate the end of school for West Middle School. Continuing teen efforts include the after-school program, teen nights, fencing and hip-hop dance.
For adults and seniors, the schedule shows classes/activities in such topics as driver safety, computers, folk dancing, tai chi, bridge, book discussions and learning Spanish.
Unlike some past brochures, this edition does not list all the classes that West offers. According to the brochure, a full list can be obtained by calling 520-2384 or going to the website: www.d11.org/communityed.
