Meet a Westsider:
Profession/Occupation... Restaurant manager (Thunder & Buttons).
What I like most about the Westside is... the “colorful” mixture of people. You have them all right here. From “pikeys” (a British term for scruffy homeless people – almost gypsies) to bankers.
If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... to disarm the police so buffalo can wander safely.
A good movie I’ve seen recently is... I think the last really good movie I saw was “Blackhawk Down” (working in a bar means I don’t get out much).
The worst advice I’ve ever gotten was... Invest money in Internet storefronts. Man, what an idiot I was!
If I could meet someone famous, I’d like to meet... Pat Robertson of the 700 Club. I can’t tell you what I’d say to him, though. Sorry.
The next time I travel, I’m going to... take a change of clothes!
My favorite childhood memory is... traveling around the Scottish Highlands with my mum.
My favorite winter pastime is... drinking beer, watching ice hockey and dreaming of spring.
Something good I’ve read is.. “Around Ireland with a Fridge,” by Tony Hawkes. Not the skateboarder. He hitchhikes around Ireland with a small refrigerator for a hundred-pound bet. Two thumbs up!
My pet peeve is... Jeez, where to start?! Two-thirds of Colorado Springs drivers. The need for people to be PC. A sense of humor seems to be a thing of the past! If people can’t take a joke, #*$@ ‘em.
If I won the lottery, I’d... stay the same. Yeah, right! I’d become an obnoxious, rich bleep and look down on those who had less than me. (Just joking, folks. You know I’d buy you a beer!)
Meet a Westsider” is a regular feature in the Westside Pioneer. If you would like to be a Meet-a-Westsider (or know someone who should be), please give us a call at 471-6776.
