Westside Pioneer's January-March print edition distributed to news outlets
For the second year since discontinuing a weekly print edition after 10 years and starting an online focus in 2014, the Pioneer plans to print bimonthly (every other month) throughout this year. The next issue will come out in early March.
The print run for the January-March edition is 11,000. Copies are available at more than 50 outlets on the Westside, including King Soopers, Safeway and the Westside Community Center.
The “Stories of the Year” ranks the 20 top articles (plus “honorable mentions”), based on the Pioneer's Colorado Springs Westside news coverage in 2015.
Both the online website, which is updated daily at westsidepioneer.com, and the print newspaper are available at no charge.
Anyone who would like a print edition mailed to them can get it sent first-class anywhere in the U.S. for $3. To set up that service, call the Pioneer at 471-6776.
Founded and published by the Jordan family (long-time Westside residents), the Pioneer news coverage is supported almost entirely by advertising from local businesses. “We urge our readers to take the time to look at the ads, consider the offered products or services (including some great coupons) and tell any businesses you go to that you saw their ad in the Westside Pioneer,” said Editor/Publisher Kenyon Jordan.
People who would like to get on the Pioneer's online e-mail notification list (usually once a week) can do so by e-mailing email@example.com
That is also the best e-mail for news tips or questions. For ad info, Assistant Publisher Therese Jordan is at firstname.lastname@example.org.
